Born in 1978, Cuauhtemoc is completely deaf. He studied at both hearing and deaf schools. Despite his father’s first opposition to let him sign, he entered an oralist school for the deaf and succeeded at becoming speaker-signer. In 1977 he started to study medicine at Xochicalco University and is currently working as a doctor for the deaf and hearing community.
